T Level Foundation Programme in Education and Early Years Do you enjoy being around children, have an interest in child development and are patient, caring, enthusiastic and enjoy being creative? But most of all do you have a sense of fun?

This one year course will allow you to get hands on in a childcare setting and Primary School, interacting with children and being part of a team whose main aim is to provide a caring and enabling environment. You will take part in a weekly work placement and attend college in order to complete the course.

Our classrooms are well furnished with educational furniture and resources that allow you to explore the world of all ages of children, from learning about nappy changing, to preparing bottles, making nutritious food, to setting up an exciting and educational play environment, and getting creative with arts and crafts and sensory play.

You will be taught by sector experienced tutors who are there to fully support you in your chosen career.

Throughout this Transition to T Level programme we will support you to develop the personal and academic skills required to progress onto the T Level in Education and Early Years or an appropriate apprenticeship through the college.

The course runs for one year. The course is 3 days a week in college and 2 days a week in work placement in a suitable setting.

This 1 year course will explain the role of the practitioner when caring and educating children, it will give you a working knowledge of current curriculum and build on your skills to be an effective team member. Our experienced tutors will give you the skills and confidence, to be able to create exciting play and educational opportunities for children, from making playdough to the importance of outdoor play.

You will be required to hold a DBS which allows you to be with children and young people. The college will support you applying for this and pay the fee.

You will need to present a minimum of 3 bits of evidence such as birth certificate, current passport, bank statement, Driving Licence, proof of address or child tax credit letter with your name on.

You will be assessed throughout the year both with internal assignments and external assessment. You will also have assessments that you will need to complete in the workplace.

Once you have finished the level 2 course you will have real experience and knowledge of working in a setting providing care and education to children.
