This course will set you on a journey towards aiding its recovery by giving you the necessary knowledge in zoology but also the science of ecology – how organisms interact with their environment.

This will give the leaner the basic grounding in ecology and conservation in order to progress onto the 2nd year of the FdSc programme.

Year 1 Indicative Modules

Diversity of life, skills for scientific success, wildlife survey techniques

Year 2 Indicative Modules

Animal ecophysiology, expedition techniques

This Cert HE course is designed to cater for students who have 48 - 63 UCAS points or have Level 3 qualifications in a non-scientific subject set.

Students will undertake work experience alongside their studies. This could be at our partner organisations: Newquay zoo or Blue reef aquarium.

A mixture of practical assessments, coursework, exams and multimedia presentations.

On successful completion of the Cert HE, the student will progress directly into the second year of the FdSc programme.
