On this short course you will learn the basics and fundamentals of British Sign Language.

The content of this course will include topics such as: The Alphabet, Family Members, Food and Drink, Transport and much more!

This course allows the perfect opportunity to move onto our British Sign Language Level 1 course, alternatively it is a great chance to learn a new skill and boost your confidence.

My name is Olivia and I run the course for Cornwall College. I have a 2:1 degree in British Sign Language and Deaf Studies. This not only covered my level 3 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) but allowed me to learn about the Deaf community and the importance of Deaf awareness.

You may be eligible to do this Tailored Learning course for free, or at a reduced fee, if you were 19+ as of 31.08.24, have been a UK/Ireland resident for the last 3 years, have not done this or a similar course/workshop before and have not done/booked on more than 2 Tailored Learning courses/workshops already for this academic year 2024/25 with The Cornwall College Group.

This short course is offered at both our Camborne and St Austell campuses at various times, days and dates. Please apply online for the campus, date and time that suits you best.

The following are the dates and times we are offering this course at our Camborne and St Austell campuses:-

Camborne – Starting Tuesday 06/05/2025 – 12.30 to 14.30 – 3 weeks
Camborne – Starting Tuesday 06/05/2025 – 18.00 to 20.00 – 3 weeks
St Austell – Starting Wednesday 30.04.25 – 12.00 to 14.00 – 4 weeks
St Austell – Starting Wednesday 30.04.25 – 18.00 to 20.00 – 4 weeks
