Falmouth Marine School is holding a virtual open day for people interested in studying a course for a career in the marine industries.
Taking place on Saturday 21st November 10am – midday, potential learners and their families will learn more about the range of courses on offer at the specialist college.
There will be a welcome from the Head of College, Steve Taylor, and course tutors will be sharing information about the courses available and the support potential students can expect to receive.
Head of Campus, Steve Taylor, said the event provides “the perfect opportunity for potential students to find out about the opportunities we have available”.
Visitors to the online event will have the opportunity to ask questions through the live chat function.
“We are the only specialist marine college in Cornwall and our provision covers everything from marine biology and science, to boatbuilding and marine engineering,” Steve explained.
Modern marine careers can be extremely rewarding and exciting, giving many students the chance to travel the globe carrying out conservation work, taking part in research projects and even joining superyachts crews.
“We offer post GCSE courses and also university level courses, so students who don’t wish to leave Cornwall can still obtain a quality degree before entering employment and the Cornwall College Group has more students graduate with us than any other college in Cornwall,” Steve continued.
“As well as delivering fantastic courses, we also have lots of amazing links to industry with many partners based around Falmouth and the South West. These links give our students access to network and career opportunities, providing a boost for their chosen careers.”
