Welcome to Construction Skills Hub, where we empower employers, individuals looking to retrain, and aspiring young people with cutting-edge renewable energy training, driving the construction sector towards a sustainable and greener future.
This project involves the development of two new buildings – the Construction Skills Academy – at Cornwall College locations in Camborne and St Austell.
These state-of-the-art facilities will offer specialised spaces for construction training, emphasising green skills and technologies such as ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps, and solar thermal and electrical systems starting in September 2024.
The project focuses on three key areas:
- inspiring young people to pursue careers in the construction sector
- providing a range of courses for SME upskilling
- offering adult retraining through our Future Skills in Construction training programme
The Green Construction Skills Pathway offers an exciting opportunity for learners in Cornwall to explore the realm of sustainable construction. Through our series of workshops, we aim to empower young minds to tackle climate change and grasp the significance of sustainable development in both their present and future lives.

The Construction Skills Hub project funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
