Course information

The Level 3 Diploma in Accounting offers technical training in accounting and is ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in accountancy or finance. The purpose of the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting is to provide students with the specialist knowledge and skills required to progress to employment in an accounting or finance role, or to further study in accountancy and finance. This qualification is a progression route for students who have achieved the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. It’s also suitable for those who have already started their journey studying a related subject and are looking to develop their skills in accounting, or for those who have already started working in finance and who have a need and desire to attain formal recognition of their skills.

• Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements
• Management Accounting Techniques
• Tax Processes for Businesses.

Aged 19+ at the beginning of the academic year and will need to have the right to study in the UK and been a resident for a minimum of 3 years.

Candidates are responsible for their own AAT registration and membership fee.

Ideally, students should have completed the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting and/or the Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping.

Prior attainment of other business or finance studies would also be beneficial. All learners complete an AAT skills test to inform their entry level and check for prior knowledge and understanding.

• Students must successfully achieve the four mandatory unit assessments to achieve this qualification. All assessments in this qualification are set and marked by AAT. AAT’s feedback service provides a summary of students’ performance in each assessment. • All exams are held at either our St Austell or Camborne Campus sites.

The highest level of qualification we offer within the department is The Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting. The Cornwall College Group encourage learners to follow the progression pathway onto the Higher Level 4 Diploma
