Course information

Students working at computers in a library The Access to HE Diploma in Computing aims to prepare students for Higher Education in Computing and related disciplines. It is aimed at students, who for whatever reason are unable to pursue traditional routes, for progression to higher education and offering bespoke computing provision to meet the needs of existing Level 4 HE courses.

It provides a broad-based educational experience in the core subjects relating to Computing, whilst enabling students to develop relevant HE study skills.

The Access to HE Diploma in Computing is designed to ensure students demonstrate ability in core subjects in order to embark on a specialist course in the Computing, Digital or IT Sector.

It forms part of Cornwall College's suite of programmes that aim to increase recruitment into the Digital sector by attracting non-traditional learners.

Software Development, Computer Networks, Dababases, Web Development, Systems Analysis, Computer Science, Cyber Security. Mathematics, HE Study Skills

Minimum of Level 2 English or Level 2 Mathematics

A broad range of assessments appropriate to the subject, including reports, presentations, practicals, portfolios and tests

On successful completion, progression will be offered onto the FdSc in Computing, Networking and Sofware Development at Cornwall College, Camborne Campus. Progression onto HE programmes at other institutions is also possible and students will be supported in applying to their destination of choice.
