Become an essential part of the construction industry. Bricklayers are responsible for setting out buildings using blocks, bricks and mortar in accordance with approved construction plans. Bricklayers also build and repair walls, chimney stacks, tunnel linings and decorative work such as archways. They might also refurbish brickwork and masonry on restoration projects.
This is an ideal one-year introduction to learning more about trowel trades in the construction industry, ideal if you have no prior knowledge or understanding of the trade.
To work on a construction site you need to have a Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) card, which covers essential health and safety, however if you wish to earn more than a labourer, gaining a technical skills qualification will provide you with a great start to a career. You can train full-time with us for up to three years with the option to move in to an apprenticeship at any time. We also offer a Level 1 qualification to get you started if you do not meet these entry requirements.
You can expect to work with time served industry specialists to hone your skill in bricklaying in our dedicated facilities.
You will have your chance to show off your skill through a number of small assessments to gain your overall qualification.
