Course information

Who
The person who this evening class is designed for will already carry out maintenance work on their car and have a good understanding of the mechanical systems on it.

But when it involves the electrical content of engine systems, lighting, starting and charging ETC they can find it difficult to rectify the problem.

Why
So now the person is looking to better understand how electrical systems actually operate and allow them to make sense of how faults can develop in the first place, and more importantly, be traced and rectified quickly.

The course
The course content over the 6-week period is aimed at understanding various systems on the car and being able to read circuit diagrams, locate a fault and deciding how to fix it. This includes circuit diagram navigation, use of test meters, oscilloscopes and diagnostic equipment.

Written information will be provided but please bring a pen and a calculator as these will assist you with the work presented on the board.

Location
The work is classroom based with some activities being undertaken in the workshop to demonstrate the process of diagnosis and use of equipment.
