Esports Courses in Cornwall The Esports industry is a fast-growing global industry with revenue projected to reach £1.5 billion in 2022 with more than 450 million viewers tuning in during 2021. This is one of the most exciting and rapidly growing industries in the world!

The UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Esports is a two year, coursework and synoptic assessed course that is highly practical and ensures learners have the skills needed to move onto university or directly into industry. A breadth of Esports skills and careers are explored throughout the two year programme to allow you to choose a range of pathways for your progression. These include but are not limited to sport, marketing, enterprise, IT and the creative industry. You will also have the opportunity to host various Esports events as well as testing your gaming skills against other competitive players.

Esports is a dynamic, multi-faceted course where you will use professional standard software such as, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Animate, After effects and more. Using this software you will explore the world of esports and beyond, covering topics like Content Creation, Marketing and Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, Sports Science and Management, Events management, Business and Enterprise and more.

Whether you want to join the next generation of Esports players, be in the live streaming and broadcasting industry or even look into Business and Enterprise management, then this is the course for you.

The course is split into two one year courses which make up the full qualification. The Esports UAL Foundation Diploma is the 1st year of study and once this is completed learners return for the 2nd year Esports National Extended Diploma.

Whilst studying on the two year course you will develop skills across a range of platforms including Esports events management, coaching, gaming strategies and analysis, business applications, enterprise and entrepreneurship, computer networking, games design, broadcasting, shoutcasting and so much more!

Entry requirements for external applicants and school leavers
• Four or more GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including English and/or Maths, or successful completion of a relevant Level 2 qualification.
• Functional Skills Level 2 in English and/or Maths will be considered as alternatives to GCSE, but a GCSE resit may be required depending on grade.

Entry requirements for existing learners with the Cornwall College Group
• Successful completion of previous course and maths and/or English at GCSE Grade 4 or Functional Skills Level 2.

Entry requirements for external applicants and school leavers
• Four or more GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including English and/or Maths, or successful completion of a relevant Level 2 qualification.

Work experience could include games retail or journalism, supporting a games design team at a company in Cornwall or beyond, 3D modelling for artists and clients, supporting live game events such as Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, British Esports championships, Tech South West Esports events and so much more!

Assessment is specifically designed to fit the purpose and objective of the qualification. It includes
a range of assessment types and styles suited to vocational qualifications in the sector. For these
qualifications, there are two main forms of assessment that you need to be aware of: internal and
synoptic.

Learners achieving the full two year qualification can progress internally onto our FdA Games Design for Industry course or onto a wide range of other higher education programmes, including Esports, Business Management, Sports Coaching, Computing, Social Media Management, Journalism and Broadcasting or work to pursue a career as an Esports player or content streamer
