Our new Counselling Taster days provides an insight into the field of counselling, and gives you the opportunity to learn about the field from qualified counsellors. The taster days, which will be run for a whole day where can learn about the professional life of a counsellor, counselling skills and what kind of training Cornwall College has to offer in this field. The progression route will be explained in detail from the start of a counselling training at an introductory Level 2 Counselling Skills course (delivered in person during the day, or the evening or online at Camborne and St Austell campuses) all the way through to our Higher Education courses. Along the way, you can study a BACP Gold Standard Level 5 Diploma in Person Centred Counselling and Therapy, which leads to a professional qualification. You could also train as a Counselling supervisor on our BA Counselling Studies course.
The taster day will offer you an informal experience to ask questions, try out some listening skills yourself and learn from professionals who have been on their own learning journey through Cornwall College.
