Course information

On this course you will learn advanced techniques to improve the quality, lighting and composition of your images. Advanced use of natural, artificial and studio flash lighting. Common uses of photo software. Special techniques; including Panoramas, HDR, and Focus Stacking.

The course will take a deeper look at producing high quality landscapes, portraits and close-up photography. This will include the use of well-known software to give the best final image from each exposure, although the emphasis will always be on getting the best results from your camera. We will also look at ways of controlling or taking advantage of challenging lighting conditions.

Students are encouraged each week to try out what they have leant and the photographs are viewed by the group the following week.

This course would be ideally suited to students who have already completed our Introduction To Digital Photography course or are already at this level (please see course description). If you are not sure please contact us and we can arrange for you to speak to the tutor to determine the best course for you.

This course is for DSLR camera users only.

You will need your own DSLR camera and a tripod for this course.


Fee payable when booking.


This course runs on a Wednesday evening from 6.30pm to 8.30pm for 8 weeks.
