Course information

Red brick wall This introduction course is best suited anyone that is new to bricklaying. This course gives you the basics of bricklaying and the best start to produce basic brick and block walls to a good standard.

On completion of the 'Introduction to Bricklaying' you will be able to construct simple stretcher bond walls and quoins.

You will learn about essential bricklaying tools and their uses, how to prepare your materials, mix mortar correctly, work out mixing ratios and build simple brick and block bonds using the fundamentals of lay, level, gauge and plumb.

No Formal Entry Requirements

FE and HE Courses, an apprenticeship, or another trade at Level 1
