Introductory welding skills in Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG)

This qualification will teach you the fundamental underpinning knowledge, relevant to your chosen welding process including, safety, use of equipment and choice of consumables. You will learn how to set the welding parameters and electrical conditions, relevant to the welding process required and material to be joined. Further-more you will develop the practical skills required to safely produce five practical welding tests in the flat and horizontal/vertical positions.

You will produce 5 welds and visually assess that they meet the requirements of the weld procedure Specification (WPS).
Upon completion of the knowledge section and welded joints, training will continue towards BS 4872 coded welding.
This practical hands-on Coded welding training course covers MIG/MAGS, MMA and TIG welding. Again, you can choose the process or processes. You will cover multi-run Fillet and Butt welds in various positions and material thicknesses. You will be assessed by a CSWIP trained, Welding Institute approval tester.

Cost £350 with a £50 British Standard Certificate fee if assessment standard reached.
