This course will be a basic introduction into the foundation of woodworking, learning the basics of hand tools, power tools and working with timber.

10 sessions of 3 hours a week in the evening on a Tuesday 5:30-20:30. Delivered 1 evening a week over 10 weeks.

Material cost of £5 per week (£50 in total).

In just 10 short weeks, split over 3 hours sessions, you will learn and practice the skills required to use a variety of hand tools and industry standard power tools; cutting joints, producing multi-joint frames and machining to set specifications within certain tolerances.

You will be introduced to correct techniques and processes when using hand tools such as combination squares, wood planes and chisels. You will be carefully instructed and guided in the safe set up and control of power tools such as routers, biscuit joiners and mitre saws in order to achieve best results when machining your work. The skills you’ll learn in these 10 weeks will serve as an excellent insight into our woodworking courses including our Joinery, Carpentry and Furniture Making and a vital introduction to ensure your happy and safe woodworking going forward.
