Principles of Business Administration Certificate Level 2 (Online) (TQUK)

This qualification will give the underpinning knowledge that is required to successfully work in a range of different environments in a business administration role. You will develop essential knowledge of how to carry out administrative tasks such as how to manage information and supporting events and learn how to apply the knowledge in a variety of industries and job roles.

What you will learn

Unit 1: Principles of providing administrative service. This unit will develop knowledge on a range of administrative support tasks as well as meeting types, different mail services and how to organise travel and accommodation. This unit also covers the impact of delivering poor customer service.

Unit 2: Principles of business document production and information management. This unit will provide an understanding of how to prepare and distribute business documents and identify how information is managed in business organisations.

Unit 3: Understand employer organisations. This unit will provide an understanding of different organisational structures and the organisational environment.

Unit 4: Understand communication in a business environment. This unit looks at the skills of written and verbal business communication, including identifying appropriate body language and tone of voice when communicating verbally.

Unit 5: Principles of developing working relationships with colleagues. This unit explores the principles of effective team-working and how to 'buddy' a colleague.

Unit 6: Exploring social media. This unit covers the opportunities and threats associated with using social media and the application of social media within a business.

Unit 7: Safe use of online and social media platforms. This unit covers the safe use of social media platforms, how to adopt appropriate security methods to safeguard your systems and data, threats on the internet and how to protect your online devices from online security attacks and fraud. This unit will also cover the implications of entering personal information onto social media sites and the legal measures that address the protection of data.

Entry requirements

Aged 19+ at the beginning of the academic year and will need to have the right to study in the UK and been a resident for a minimum of 3 years.

Assessment

The qualification is assessed by internally set and marked assessments subject to external quality assurance. Where indicated in the unit specifications, assessment must meet the requirements of the identified assessment strategy/principles. Materials for internal assessment must be submitted to The Equal Platform for approval prior to use and must be mapped to the relevant unit, learning outcome and assessment criteria. All learning outcomes must be met to achieve a Pass – there is no grading.
