Course information

Project Search is a 5 day a week provision which allows young adults with an EHCP to have a work placement at Cornwall Council for 4 days a week and attend College for 1 day a week. The time on work placement will enable them to gain valuable work experience with the support of a job coach and have the opportunity to take part in a range of roles to see which is right for them. The time at College will allow for the development of English and maths skills as well as key employability skills such as communication, time management, confidence and independent living.

Learners will attend 1 day in College (STAC or Camborne) and 4 days on work placement at Cornwall Council in Truro or Bodmin.

Project SEARCH will help you to gain key employability skills, develop your independence, confidence and resilience whilst working in a professional environment.

4 days a week at Cornwall Council with the ability to explore different job roles with the support of a job coach.

Following an initial assessment to establish your starting point, you will set targets for your development and be assessed throughout in partnership with the employer. Assessment is through a portfolio of evidence including photographs, practical and written assessments. Staff also observe you in lessons and on work placement.

The goal is to provide full-time paid work for our interns in an integrated setting.
