College’s much-anticipated Apprenticeship Games are back for 2025

More news from Duchy College

The Cornwall College Group is excited to announce the return of its renowned Apprenticeship Games in 2025, showcasing the talent and skills of apprentices from across the South West.

This highly anticipated competition will take place on Wednesday 12th February, during National Apprenticeship Week, continuing a proud tradition of celebrating apprenticeships and their vital contribution to the regional economy.

Set to unfold at the picturesque Duchy College Stoke Climsland campus, the games will welcome teams from leading businesses across a variety of industries.

Participants will engage in interactive and innovative challenges designed to test their technical expertise, teamwork, communication and leadership skills.

Previous years’ activities have included creative challenges such as mocktail making and gateau decorating, as well as technical exercises like E-sports and wall-building contests.

Winners take home the coveted “Apprenticeship Team of the Year” torch trophy, along with gold, silver and bronze awards recognising top-performing teams.

Beyond the accolades, the event provides apprentices with an invaluable opportunity to network with peers, showcase their talents and deepen connections with employers.

“The Apprenticeship Games are a true celebration of our apprentices and the local businesses that support them,” said Teresa Copping, head of apprenticeships at the college. “They embody the strength of our communities and our commitment to delivering world-class apprenticeship training right here in the South West.”

Teresa added: “By showcasing the exceptional skills of our apprentices and fostering connections between learners and employers, this event highlights how apprenticeships empower individuals and drive meaningful economic growth in our region. We are proud to be at the heart of this initiative, shaping the future workforce and transforming lives through apprenticeship excellence.”
