Engineering Excellence

In display of outstanding achievement, 38 apprentices have recently qualified from Cornwall College St Austell and The Plymouth Engineering Skills Centre and celebrated a remarkable 100% pass rate in their evaluations.

The talented individuals worked tirelessly to complete the course and the Apprenticeship Standard End Point Assessment, a rigorous two-part evaluation that includes a professional discussion and a competence review.

Unlike the traditional framework apprenticeships, these standards require apprentices to master a range of knowledge, skills and behaviours tailored to the roles they will fill in the future of engineering.

Notably, 30 of the 38 apprentices opted for the demanding Mechatronics pathway, which is recognised as one of the most challenging routes in the programme.

Teresa Copping, Head of Apprenticeships at The Cornwall College Group, expressed her pride, she stated: “This incredible achievement reflects the hard work and commitment of our apprentices and the dedicated support from our staff. Their success sets a high standard for the future of engineering and we’re excited to work with some of the best employers in the country who will benefit from this world-class training.”
