On this course you will develop your gardening skills whilst working as part of the team to maintain and enhance community centre grounds. As well as planting herbs, plants and shrubs you will also learn how to take cuttings, propagate, and maintain and develop the established gardens at one of our off-site locations.
Richmond House, Penzance – Wednesdays 10am – 12:30pm and 1pm – 3:30pm
Liskerrett Centre, Liskeard – Thursdays 10am – 4pm
Coach House, Liskeard – Fridays 10am – 3pm
Richmond House has a small greenhouse, many containers and a small vegetable area and fruit trees.
Liskerrett Centre has a polytunnel, containers and areas suitable for growing a variety of produce and fruit trees. You will also help support the community store within the centre.
The Coach House has a large polytunnel, small greenhouse, sheds, many containers and a small vegetable area and fruit trees. It is a peaceful area to learn gardening skills, how to use plants in a culinary and medicinal way, designing the garden, companion planting, composting and organic gardening.
At all locations you will be encouraged to focus on areas of interest to you with tutor support.
Our road to wellbeing courses are relaxed and informal, enabling you to improve your wellbeing and mental health, building your self-confidence, and they are a great way to make friends.
Our courses are for anyone aged 19+ who is experiencing or recovering from mental ill-health.
Our courses run one day per week, over 10 to 13 weeks per term. If you miss the start of the course don’t worry, you can join the course at any time.
Boundervean Resource Centre, located in Camborne, is one of ten resource centres dedicated to supporting its local community. Operated by the Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, the centre provides a welcoming space for individuals who have engaged with a mental health team in the past or are currently receiving mental health support.
The centre offers a variety of drop-in sessions, services, and activities designed to assist adults experiencing severe and enduring mental health challenges, fostering connection, recovery, and well-being within the community.
